Modi wishes 'Tarini', Navy's all-women yacht crew, a huge success

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has wished Tarini, a six-member all-women yacht crew of Indian Navy, a huge success as the globe-trotting yacht team landed up at the picturesque New Zealand.
Six women officers of the Indian Navy commenced their around-the-world-in-a-yacht voyage on 10th September from Goa. Their yacht has been named as ‘INSV Tarini’. The crew has drawn up a schedule to go around the globe in the yacht over a period of 8 months.
It rested at Australia last month and moved to New Zealand on Tuesday where it landed up at the Lyttleton Port. After resting at this port for about two weeks to meet its diesel and other needs, the crew would leave the Port on 12th December to resume its voyage across the globe. The crew has so far travelled 7,800 nautical miles. The globe-trotting voyage is expected to be concluded in April next year.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has wished the crew a huge success on his Twitter account. “I’m happy that Tarini is proceeding in its scheduled route in a determined manner; my best wishes to the naval officers!”
