Narendra Modi, hours after calling for an all-party meeting over the ongoing clash with China, on Wednesday, said that the sacrifice of our soldiers won't go in vain. This was in reference to the martyrdom of the Indian Army's 20 soldiers on June 15.
"India wants peace but it is capable to give a befitting reply when instigated. The nation must be proud of its warriors who laid down their lives while killing enemies. I would like to assure the nation that the sacrifices of our jawans will not go in vain. For us, the integrity and sovereignty of our nation is paramount," the Prime Minister said.
He said that India has always wished for the welfare of our neighbours. "We have also tried to ensure that differences do not turn into disputes. We never instigate anyone but we never compromise with the integrity and sovereignty of our nation," Modi added.
He declared that India will protect every inch of its territory and its sovereignty. "India, culturally, is a peace-loving country. Our history has been of peace," Modi observed.
