As reported on Monday, Mohan Babu, Vishnu Babu, Lakshmi Manchu and Viranica called on Narendra Modi at the PM's residence in New Delhi. The PM took to Twitter and tweeted out about his interaction with the Manchu actor. "It was a delight to meet your family and you, Mohan Babu. We had very good discussions on many issues including the importance of cinema and how we can deepen cultural linkages between people," Modi wrote.
While Modi has mentioned "cinema" and "cultural linkages", in his brief interaction with the media, Mohan Babu said that he was there to invite Modi for an event of his educational institution in Tirupathi. "Please don't read too much into the meeting. I have nothing to say (regarding the speculation that Modi invited him to join the BJP)," Mohan Babu said.
Manchu Vishnu said that Modi has plans to invite southern film stars for a meet-up. "I conveyed to the Prime Minister that southern industry people are somewhat disappointed he met only Bollywood stars on occasions (for example, on the eve of Gandhi Jayanthi last year). Modi garu doesn't see North and South with different eyes," Vishnu said.
