Marking his birthday today, Narendra Modi celebrated it by releasing hundreds of butterflies from a bag. On the occasion, he also announced that the saffron-coloured plain tiger butterfly as the State butterfly of Gujarat.
Ever since his act, the Prime Minister has been trolled by some on social media. They are of the view that there is no point in first putting the butterflies in a bag and then setting them free. Stand-up comic Abijit Ganguly said, "Wouldn't it be ironic if we get to know that the Butterflies were captured a month back and kept in a blackout so that today they realize ache din aa gaye hai?"
"They caged all those butterflies so Modi could free those? Just like they place garbage so Modi could clean for Swachh Bharat photo-op. Just like they set up cameras at his mom’s place before he visits her. Just like they make common people rehearse Q & As in his town halls," tweeted out a Twitter user.
