It is reported that realizing that it would be tough for the BJP to win the ensuing Assembly polls in Gujarat this time, Prime Minister Narendra has altered his ‘campaign style’ slightly. BJP’s social media wing has been flooding the net with the Prime Minister seeking votes from the people with folded hands.

BJP was under the impression till a few months back that it would be a cakewalk for it as it is aiming to win the Assembly polls for a record fifth successive term.  However, the situation has undergone drastic changes in the recent past with the people of Gujarat in general and the trading community in particular raising their voices against the Centre’s much-touted GST and last year’s demonetization drive.

Despite recent pre-poll surveys predicting a victory for the party, the BJP realizes that the situation might go out of control at any moment as there are still many days before the polling to be held in two phases on 09th and 14th December. Modi is said to have ‘altered’ his campaign style slightly from waving predominantly to folding his hands seeking people’s votes in a more humble manner.

The ensuing Winter Session of Parliament has been postponed to December mainly to allow BJP and Congress leaders concentrate in Gujarat where Modi ruled for many years as chief-minister.
