Modi paid the price for his arrogant speech, Stalin attacks

DMK president M.K. Stalin launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, holding him squarely responsible for the BJP’s debacle in the just-concluded Assembly polls in five States. “It (the poll defeat) is a result for Modi’s arrogant speech which has been going on for many years,” Stalin asserted in his regular column in the party organ ‘Murasoli’.
“At a time when we had just stitched up a ‘mega-alliance’ to save the democracy and defeat the BJP which threatens the integrity and sovereignty of the country with its anti-secular brand of politics, here comes the news of BJP’s tragic defeat in the Assembly polls as it has been voted out of power in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan. In Telengana and Mizoram, the party has been decimated. It is indeed a very good augury in view of Lok Sabha polls which are due in April-May.
“It is the DMK’s duty to laud and congratulate Congress president Rahul Gandhi on this monumental achievement. All political parties are aware of Modi’s arrogant brand of politics and the BJP’s worst possible rule at the Centre during the past four-and-a-half years. The fascist BJP Govt. at the Centre has not only destroyed India’s pluralistic societal set-up but has also been working overtime to ensure that it doesn’t face a strong opposition during polls.
“The results are an indication of things to come (during Lok Sabha polls in April-May next year) and are only people’s ‘gift’ to Modi for his arrogant and irresponsible talk on many occasions. BJP’s downslide would continue and it would ultimately be voted out of power at the Centre during the ensuing Lok Sabha polls,” Stalin said.
