China has on Thursday scuttled the UN Security Council's bid to assign Masood Azhar of Jaish-e-Mohammed as a global terrorist. It was on the expected lines as it's China that has always supported Azhar and JeM. Congress President Rahul Gandhi has taken the opportunity to take a jibe at PM Modi, saying that he is scared of Xi Jinping.
"Weak Modi is scared of Xi. Not a word comes out of his mouth when China acts against India. NoMo’s China Diplomacy: 1. Swing with Xi in Gujarat. 2. Hug Xi in Delhi. 3. Bow to Xi in China," RaGa tweeted out.
With elections around the corner, the BJP was quick to pay back Rahul in the same coin by blaming Nehru for India's UNSC woes. "China wouldn't be in the UNSC had your great grandfather not 'gifted' it to them at India’s cost. India is undoing all mistakes of your family. Be assured that India will win the fight against terror. Leave it to PM Modi while you keep cozying up with the Chinese envoys secretly," the party said.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Ravishankar Prasad tore into Rahul for the remarks.
