Modi hints Agnipath policy won't be withdrawn

The Agnipath policy announced by the Centre recently has been a bone of contention across several Indian States. Protests broke out in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and even Hyderabad last week.
It has been speculated that the defence recruitment policy would be withdrawn soon. But Prime Minister Modi's words today suggest that the NDA government is not going to withdraw the policy.
IANS has reported that the PM feels that the scheme may seem bitter today but it will bear positive results in the long run. Some of the initiatives of the government may seem to be bitter today, but they will bear fruits tomorrow, the PM has been quoted as saying.
This is a welcome move as per Netizens. The government is yet to notify CAA because of the street protests in Delhi and other parts of the country. The government was jolted and withdraw the Farm Bills last year. In this regard, staying firm on Agnipath is a positive sign. The government should not surrender to street veto, a Facebook user wrote.
