'The Kashmir Files' has been a blockbuster. It has netted more than Rs 45 Cr in just 4 days. On Tuesday, Narendra Modi himself batted for the film by saying that it has presented the truth (about the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus from Kashmir) before the public.
In his speech, the Prime Minister said that many forces are against the film because it has spoken the truth as it is. These forces, Modi said, have been discrediting the product. "My issue is not about a film, but about bringing the truth in its correct form before the country," Modi said, as quoted by Indian Express. Modi indirectly accused those who claim to support freedom of expression at all times of carrying propaganda against 'Kashmir Files'.
He also suggested that a film on the Partition should be made.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh has joined the list of states where 'Kashmir Files' has been made tax-free. Already, Karnataka, Haryana and a few other BJP-ruled states have made the film tax-free.
