Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday is reported to have asked Narendra Modi to clarify on the rumours that there is going to be a new lockdown in the near future. As per an official statement from the Telangana Government, there are no plans to reimpose a lockdown.

The Prime Minister told the CM that there is not going to be any lockdown further. After the present phase of Unlock 1.0, there will be an Unlock 2.0.

The Centre is going to issue specific guidelines on the second phase of Unlock. Usually, the States have had the freedom to tighten the centre's guidelines but not loosen them.

If States deem it fit, they can opt for a lockdown. Tamil Nadu has announced blanket lockdown in four districts, including Chennai, from June 19 until the end of the month.
