It has become a habit to make sequel films in Indian language films. We had many sequels in the past in Kannada. To the list of sequels adds Mungaru Male` the best collector so far in the history of Kannada cinema!

A film by E Krishnaappa a realtor Mungaru Male` was in the direction of Yogaraj Bhat. Ganesh and Amoolya starred in that film. Diganth was in a special role of this film. The film entered the pages of history and also given breakthrough for music director Mano Murthy and lyricist Jayanth Kaikini. The release of Mungaru Male` in December end of 2006 was a slow pick up in the box office that later became a mammoth collector.

Now the executive producer of Mungaru Male` Gangadhar also a politician like producer E Krishnappa is contemplating on sequel of Mungaru Male`. The sequel will not be directed by Yogaraj Bhat and Ganesh in the cast is only information available now.

From the days of Gandhada Gudi Part II` there are several sequels made in Kannada cinema. Police Story and Sangliana of late 90`s were made three sequels. The recent sequel to hit the silver screen was Savari-2` – it was sequel only in title but not in continuation of earlier part.
