Mithai is a tribute to Coen brothers style: Prashant Kumar

Prashant Kumar is the debutant director of 'Mithai'. The upcoming dark comedy, whose quirky Trailer has already positioned the film as a promising entertainer, stars Rahul Ramakrishna and Priyadarshi as the main actors.

The director says that the film has surreal elements. It's also a dark comedy where the good guys continue to face problems and the bad guys continue to have bright days. As for symbolism, a goat and a donkey are there to suggest something. "Given budgetary constraints, I couldn't work with a dog and a horse," the director reveals.

Prashant, who actually hails from Bihar, watches international cinema. 'Mithai' is a tribute to the style of filmmaking that the Coen brothers are known for.

Sandeep Reddy of 'Arjun Reddy' fame and Kranthi Madhav are his friends. The title 'Mithai' was suggested by the former. The very title conveys a philosophical subtext. This we will know when the film hits the screens later this year.
