'Mithai' in full demand from distributors

'Mithai', the up-and-coming dark comedy starring Rahul Ramakrishna and Priyadarshi, is directed by debutant Prashant Kumar. Its trailer was out recently and ever since, the movie has acquired buzz among the urban and semi-urban audiences.
The news is that distributors are approaching the producers with requests for theatrical rights. But director Prashant Kumar is pissed off by their bargaining endeavours. "After the buzz because of the trailer, buyers started haunting me, they are bargaining with me like a woman does in my village. My film is a piece of art and it has fixed price. If you can afford it, buy it or just F^CK off. I will never get into bargain mode," the director tweets out.
The film is a November release that also stars Ravi Varma, Kamal Kamaraju, Bhushan Kalyan (the 'Arjun Reddy' dean is here with Sundari, a goat whose bleat is as cute as its avatar), Swetaa Varma and Aditi Myakal. Shot in night effect, it has music by Vivek Sagar, the guy whom our directors trust to come up with new-age output. The cinematography is by Ravi Varman Neelamegam and the visuals are unapologetically not-so-flamboyant. Editing is by Garry BH and lyrics are by Kittu Vissapragada.
