'Mithai' Hyderabadi song is so fun to listen

A dark comedy like 'Mithai' having a traditional Hyderabadi song delivered in a non-Telugu language is nothing but pushing the envelope.  Director Prashant Kumar's characters (played by comedians Rahul Ramakrishna and Priyadarshi) are rooted and, as such, it's fitting that they are basking in a song like this.  Full of nativity and life.  Slice-of-life.

With Percussion by Anil Robin and Harmonium by Yakub Ali, the irreverent song has been rendered by Hafiza B, Sahera, Sulthana, and Habedha.  Vivek Sagar's composition is a whiff of fresh air.  The very conception of the number as a localized entertainer is commendable.

The entertainer also stars Ravi Varma, Kamal Kamaraju, Bhushan Kalyan (the 'Arjun Reddy' dean is here with Sundari, a goat whose bleat is as cute as its avatar), Swetaa Varma and Aditi Myakal.  The cinematography is by Ravi Varman Neelamegam and the visuals are unapologetically not-so-flamboyant.  Editing is by Garry BH and lyrics (for the other songs) are by Kittu Vissapragada.
