Mitchell Starc’s superb bowling earning him 4 wickets while just giving 43 runs in his spell of 8.4 overs against England, may have been motivated by an unsuspecting English fan. When the bowler was eating breakfast on the day of the match, an English ‘bloke in a suit’ commented that he was eating too much. Starc said: “Someone was having a go at my strapping tape and me eating too much and how it was going to affect my bowling. I was just hungry.” Something seems to have affected his bowling alright, and not in the way the Brit expected.
When asked what he ate by interviewers, he replied: “A few poached eggs… three I think.” Starc did not take it seriously and wrote off the incident as a bit of fun. But his performance wreaked serious havoc to the English team. Alyssa Healy, Starc’s wife also took to Twitter to comment about the incident saying: “High fives ???? to the English bloke who fired up Mitch with some banter at breaky..... onya legend!!” This time it may not have been too serious, but fans have been crossing the line with some of their remarks. While it is natural to get disappointed, the way it is shown matters.
