After a 20-year-old nun was found dead inside a well located near her convent, a Kerala priest has been found dead in a mysterious way. Father George Ettupara, the Kerala priest who has been missing from Sunday afternoon was found dead in a well near the premises of the church, at Ayarkunnam in Kottayam district.

According to reports, the church authorities filed a case at the police after the priest who went out after the Sunday mass did not return late at night. The police started search operations very late by Sunday evening. After a massive searching Fr. George’s body was recovered from the well near the church. The body of the 50-year-old vicar was recovered with a plastic rope nearby.

The police have registered an unnatural death as the CCTV cameras in the church turned off before the priest went missing. Also, his mobile phone was found in silent mode inside his room. A special investigation team is probing the incident and the exact cause of the death will be known after the autopsy conducted.
