Producer C.Ve.Kumar`s who has churned out many critically acclaimed and commercially successful films of the recent times from his Thirukumaran Entertainments banner is ready with his next. The shooting of 144` directed by debutante G.Manikandan has been wrapped up recently.

The film has Mirchi Siva, Ashok Selvan, Oviya and Shruthi in lead roles. Musical score has been rendered by Sean Roldon who debuted with Mundasupatti` produced by C.Ve.Kumar last year.

The 144` team has revealed the plot of the film and its background in a novel manner through a press statement.

The film revolves around Poomalaikkundu and Erimalaikkundu the two villages located in the suburbs of Madurai. Poomalaikkundu is filled with innocent and submissive people while the dwellers of Erimalaikkundu are quite opposite. Even a smallest of offence would turn into a riot in that village.

The two villages of entirely different people share a enmity over generations. Due to this the State would implement the 144 order in these two villages at the drop of a hat.

What happens in these two villages when a robbery happens at the violent Erimalaikkundu village forms the crux of the story of 144`.
