Ayodhya Kumar Krishnam Shetty's critically acclaimed movie, 'Minugurulu', which has already won many national and international awards, has got a place in the prestigious 87th Oscar contenders list.

This film, revolving around 40 blind children in an orphanage, was praised by many famous people even before it's release and now getting a place in the contenders list for Oscar is really a great achievement. The makers also said that American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (A.M.P.A.S) has included their script in their library and it is the first time ever that a Telugu film got that honour.'Minugurulu' is in the list of 323 films, competing for Oscar. It will be competing in all the categories.

A press meet has been held in Hyderabad by the movie team to announce it. Ayodhya Kumar Krishnam Shetty, N.Shankar,CPI leader Narayana, actor Abhijeeth etc have attended it.
