Actress Revathi had a successful stint in south Indian cinema in the 80s and the 90s. She continues to make her presence notable in many movies. The veteran actress was last seen in 'Edhiri' from 'Navarasa'. The actress made her directorial debut with Mitr, My Friend that won the Best English Film of the Year Award at the National Awards.
Now, Revathi is all set to direct her second feature film 'The Last Hurrah'. The big news is that Bollywood star Kajol has confirmed that announced that she is a part of this upcoming movie. Interestingly, Revathi dubbed for Kajol in her Tamil debut film 'Minsara Kanavu'. Kajol was last seen in the Netflix family drama 'Tribhanga: Tedhi Medhi Crazy'.
The Last Hurrah is said to be inspired by a true story and real characters that revolve around an exemplary mother, Sujata, who battled the most challenging situations one can ever face with a smile. The film is backed by producers Suraj Singh and Shraddha Agrawal under the banner of Blive Productions and Take 23 Studios Productions.
The film is currently in pre-production and will soon go on floors. Taking to Instagram, Kajol wrote, "So happy to announce my next film with the super awesome Revathi directing me.. called 'The Last Hurrah'. A heartwarming story that made me instantly say YES! Can I hear a "Yipppeee" please?"
Actress turned director Revathy posted, "It gives me immense pleasure to announce my next directorial, The Last Hurrah, and my very first collaboration with the very talented Kajol. This is a special story and an incredible journey I am looking forward to! #TheLastHurrah".
