These two Malayalam films to be screened at IFFM 2017

The two most critically acclaimed movies of recent times 'Minnaminungu' and 'Manhole', will be screened at the Indian Film Festival Melbourne (IFFM) 2017, which is scheduled from August 10th to 22nd. Manhole helmed by Vidhu Vincent had bagged the Best Film and Best Director awards in the Kerala State Film Awards 2016, meanwhile, the female lead in 'Minnaminungu' Surabhi Lakshmi won the best actress award at the 64th National film awards.

'Minnaminungu' helmed by Anil Thomas, depicts the relationship between a single mother and daughter. Besides Surabhi Lakshmi, the movie has Rebecca Santhosh, Krishnan Balakrishnan and Balu Narayanan in significant roles. Featuring Renu Soundar, Ravi Kumar and Shylaja J. in prominent roles, Manhole narrates the story a manual scavenger's daughter. 'Manhole' is the directorial debut of Vidhu Vincent.

A total of 60 Indian films will be screened among which 'Lipstick Under My Burkha', directed by Alankrita Srivastava will be the opening film at the fest.
