Ahead of the OTT release of Tovino Thomas' superhero movie Minnali Murali, the movie's director Basil Joseph has penned a heartfelt note on how dear the project is to him. Sharing a picture from a private premiere of the movie, Basil Joseph wrote, "Yesterday marks the very last day of the 3-year long journey we had with Minnal Murali. As I say this, our brainchild is is finally handed over to Netflix. Having spend this much time for a movie, I have to say that Minnal Murali is not just a movie, it's an inevitable part of our life. Every instance we had in this movie was eventful and equally stressful, the uncertainty looming around Covid pandemic made it even harder, but even amidst that, the entire team put in their best to work towards the goal of making a good movie, which resonated with the spirit to move ahead and enjoy the process."

He further added, "I sincerely thank our producer @sophiapauljames and her family for trusting me and being the pillar of support throughout. It wasn't easy to invest so much in such an experimental movie, especially with the pandemic concerns. @inst.kev, you were really a life saver at so many instances brother.

The most essential part in a superhero movie is the hero himself, the criteria being the charm, charisma and physique of a superhuman and there was nobody else that fit perfectly into the profile other than you @tovinothomas . Apart from an actor-director relationship this worked because you have been a brother and friend to me. I owe you big time dear friend.

Directed by Basil Joseph, Minnal Murali is touted to be the first superhero movie in Malayalam, Minnal Murali is the story of a common man who gets superpowers. Apart from Tovino, Kollywood star Guru Somasundaram, Sneha Babu, Aju Varghese, Harisree Asokan, and Baiju Santhosh are playing lead roles in the movie.

The movie will be premiered in Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada languages. While it will be called Minnal Murali in Tamil, the Hindi version will be titled, Mister Murali. In Telugu and Kannada, it is Merupu Murali and Minchu Murali respectively.
