Minister Velumani responds immediately to Twitter complaint, gets lauded

Tamil Nadu Local Administration Minister S.P. Velumani got accolades and appreciation from netizens yesterday when he responded very quickly to a netizen’s complaint of an ill-lit walk-way connecting the Chennai Central and Parktown Railway Stations.

An individual had posted a picture of an ill-lit walk-way connecting Chennai Central Railway Station and the Parktown Railway Station used by thousands including women each day.  The Minister responded by making arrangements for proper lighting and also by posting a brightly-lit photograph of the same path-way on his Twitter account.

At a time when it is considered that Ministers of the State Govt. are tech-savvy and don’t respond to complaints filed via social networking sites, Minister Velumani’s prompt and quick response has earned him the laurels of thousands of netizens.  Earlier, the issue was taken to the Minister’s attention by AIADMK’s State IT wing secretary Singai Ramachandran.

Velumani then alerted the concerned officials in the Central zone, got the work done, and tweeted on his Twitter account responding to the complainant stating “Work completed, Thambi!”

Kudos to the Minister!
