'Ayali' is the latest bilingual web series from ZEE5 that created waves in Tamil cinema. Now, the hot news is that actor, producer & minister Udhayanidhi Stalin has showered praise on the show.

Ayali is a social comedy-drama about a young girl named Tamil Selvi who aspires to be a doctor amid the patriarchy and misogyny practiced in her village Veerapannai. The series was released on January 26 and garnered huge appreciation from the film fraternity and audiences alike. The limited series consists of eight episodes, which are entertaining and empowering as well.

Recently, Udhayanidhi Stalin bestowed the show's writer and director Muthukumar with a statue of Periyar. He shared a picture of the same on his Twitter page and complimented the series by captioning, "Ayali. ZEE5 original web series. The story of a student who hides her puberty and aspires to become a doctor. Opposing child marriage and explaining the importance of female education, this film is a must watch for all. I appreciated director Muthukumar by awarding him a Periyar statue." (sic).
