Tamil Nadu Electricity Minister Thangamani met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Raj Bhawan for a one-to-one meeting which lasted for 15 minutes. The Minister’s one-to-one meeting has created excitement in the corridors of power.
On a 2-day tour of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Chennai yesterday evening and drove straight to ‘Kalaivanar Arangam’ where he inaugurated the AIADMK regime’s prestigious ‘Amma Subsidized Scooter’ scheme and gave away benefits to chosen beneficiaries. Political observers point out that the PM used the stage mainly to showcase the achievements of the BJP at the Centre.
Later, the Prime Minister stayed at Raj Bhawan in Guindy (the Governor’s official residence) where Governor Banwarilal Purohit and his wife hosted a dinner in his honour. BJP’s Tamil Nadu Unit president Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, party’s Rajya Sabha M.P. L. Ganesan, Union Road Transport Pon Radhakrishnan were among the prominent leaders who called on the Prime Minister at Raj Bhawan.
However, it was the 15-minute long meeting of Thangamani with the Prime Minister that sent political observers into thinking mode. No details, however, were made available to the press about the meeting of the State Electricity Minister with the Prime Minister.
