Tamil Nadu Minister for Industries, Steel Control & Special Initiatives M.C. Sampath has assured that a global-level investors’ summit would be held soon in Chennai.
It may be recalled that the deceased former Tamil Nadu chief-minister J. Jayalalithaa had held in a grand manner a global investors’ summit in Chennai during September, 2015, more than a year before her demise under mysterious circumstances on 05th December, 2016. The Summit was touted as a huge success by the Government.
Speaking to newsmen, the Industries Minister said that an announcement would soon be made about the schedule of the proposed global investors’ summit to be held in Chennai.
“A decision would be taken and an announcement would be made within a week’s time about convening the global level investors’ meeting in Chennai,” Sampath said and added that consultations would be made with the chief-minister before the announcement is made. “A separate high-ranking officer would be appointed specifically to look after the work of convening the summit,” he informed.
