Education minister announces marks for planting trees!

It has been announced by the Education minister that extra marks will be given for school students if they grow trees. Of late, there have been lots of changes in the educational system in Tamil Nadu. Some of the prominent changes include the changes in the syllabus and smart education scheme and the emphasis on nurturing the special skills of students.
Besides these changes in the system, there were demands to modify the marks and scoring methods as well, and it was earlier announced by school education department that additional marks will be given for students growing trees,and the minister for school education Sengottaiyan has confirmed the same today.
In an event conducted in Chennai today, the minister said that for students who are planting and growing trees, 12 marks with the split-up being 2 marks per subject will be awarded, and these scheme will be implemented from next academic year, adding that that scheme is being introduced to emphasize the need to grow trees among children.
