The State Skill Development and professional training board headed by Muralidhar Halappa has taken a new stand of considering women working in agricultural fields as Farmers` to get Worker` status.

It is also on the lines of women empowerment and in three districts in association with Mind Tree is giving such status to women in agricultural fields.

I got Crops` is another organization with UNDP spreading its wings. The workshop regarding this was inaugurated on Thursday.

For 40000 women farmers to get training in agricultural related training to spread wings to market. In Kanakapura, Koratagere and Vijayapura this scheme of training to women has been extended as of now.

In extending such training the benefits like evading middlemen and auction operation in agricultural produce could be reduced. The agricultural products reach the consumer directly in this case.

UNDP skill training chief Clement Chauvet explained on the great future for women farmers that are profitable and comfortable. Deepthi Kamath stressed for online contact of farmers products to consumers.
