Karnataka govt cancels special trains for migrant workers!

While states like Kerala have been transporting migrant workers who were stranded there due to the nationwide lockdown, unable to go back to their natives, now the Karnataka goverment has cancelled all the special trains which initially arranged to transport migrant workers to their home states.

This decision was taken after a meeting between Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and top builders of the State. N Manjunath Prasad, nodal officer for state's inter-state travel has reportedly written a letter to Indian Railways informing that Karnataka does not require Shramik Special trains.

Initially Karnataka had arranged two special trains a day for five days to send back stranded workers and now, following the new order, ministers have been instructed to convince the labourers to not travel home and stay back in Karnataka. The CM has said that builders are providing essentials to labourers and construction activities have started already.
