When the news broke out that the 20 year old played a key-role in the homicide of the then Conrad Roy III, 18, the world was shocked.
She apparently sent some speculative messages that might have pushed him over the edge and commit the suicide.
Carter apparently sent some text messages that ultimately lead to the death of the 18-year-old by consuming poison.
She texted “It`s okay to be scared and it`s normal. I mean, you`re about to die. … You just need to do it Conrad. The more you push it off, the more it will eat at you. … You just have to do it, Conrad. It`s painless and quick.”
Needless to say, she found guilty of doing this and now she is going to spend about 3-4 years in jail on the account of involuntary manslaughter of Conrad Roy III.
While the Massachusetts law doesn`t have any laws that relate to this type of incidents, the judge at the Massachusetts court ordered Ms. Carter to be jailed for 3 years with rehabilitation and community service, according to Joey Jackson, a criminal defense lawyer and CNN legal analyst.
Her defense lawyer, however, denies that she had any role in Conrad`s suicide.
He says “You`re dealing with an individual who wanted to take his own life.” “He dragged Michelle Carter into this. It`s sad. It`s tragic. It`s just not a homicide”
If you or anyone you know is going through depression and suicidal thoughts, do not say something like this. Instead, be a better human being and help them get out of that element.
