Thalapathy Vijay,his upcoming movie "Leo," is preparing for his next project, tentatively titled "Thalapathy68," after its announcement by AGS Entertainment on May 21 this year. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, renowned for films like "Mankatha," "Maanaadu," and "Custody," the film is set to commence its production stage on October 3, Tuesday, as per recent reports.
It is speculated that the official pooja ceremony for the film will be held today, October 2, in an intimate setting, similar to the approach taken for "Leo."
There have been rumors circulating that veteran actor Mohan aka Mic Mohan, celebrated for his roles in films such as "Mappillai Sir," "Sahadevan Mahadevan," and "Ilamai Kaalangal," will play a significant part in the film.
Mohan, a stalwart of Tamil cinema, is best known for his portrayal of Chandrakumar in Mani Ratnam's 1986 romantic drama "Mouna Ragam." His illustrious career also saw him directing his 100th film, "Anbulla Kadhalukku," in 1999, and subsequently making a comeback with the 2008 film "Sutta Pazham." Recently, he was confirmed to appear in the movie "Haraa," directed by Vijay Sri G, alongside notable actors like Khushboo, Yogi Babu, Rajendran, and Manobala.
"Thalapathy68" marks the first collaboration between Thalapathy Vijay and Venkat Prabhu. The film is expected to feature Vijay in dual roles as a father and son, with the actor-director duo exploring de-aging technology during a trip to Los Angeles. The cast also includes Meenakshi Chaudhary and Priyanka Arul Mohan in leading roles, while SJ Suryah and Prabhu Deva are rumored to play pivotal characters, though official confirmations are pending. AGS Productions is bankrolling the project, with Yuvan Shankar Raja composing the music.
