MF Hussain passed away, celebs mourn

MF Hussain, India's most celebrated and acclaimed painter passed away late last night in London, after a period of ill health. It is said that his body will not be brought to India and the last rites will be done in London.

The painter, as much as is known for his talent has also been controversy's favourite child. He got into many legal issues and controversies after his nude paintings on Hindu goddesses and even Mother India, although he apologised on these paintings, he went in a self-imposed exile few years back to Dubai and London.

Despite these controversies, he is one of the most revered painters across the globe; he started off his career painting film posters and shot to fame after a series of events.

Hussain made news for his muses, the screen beauties namely Madhuri Dixit (with whom he made movie 'Gaja Gamini'), Tabu (Meenaxi: A Tale of Three Cities) Vidya Balan, Amrita Rao and Anushka Sharma.

His death has come as a blow to Indian film stars who are venting their grief and thoughts in social networking sites, here's what they have to say:
