Former Femina Miss India pageant winner Niharika Singh has 'exposed' the versatile Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a #MeToo post. She has alleged that Siddiqui coerced her into an abusive relationship years ago.
In 2013, the actor "tried to re-engage me sexually, begging me to be with him," Niharika writes. She says that she made it clear to him she only wanted to be his friend. She writes that Siddiqui tried to grab her in Ahmedabad after a promotional event of ‘Miss Lovely’. Niharika further alleges that the actor spread the view about her that she was a terrible actress. Offers to her started thinning in due course of time.
Last year, Siddiqui wrote a memoir titled ‘An ordinary life’, in which he "completely fabricated the relationship between me and him without my knowledge or consent."
Niharika also says that some high-profile women activists have shown allegiance to sexual predators from their social circles.
