From Buzz to Drop: Meta Platforms' Journey with Threads' Audience
Send us your feedback to audioarticles@vaarta.com
Meta Platforms is all about improving Thread's retention since it lost over half of its users after the initial launch. CEO Mark Zuckerberg shared this in an internal town hall with employees. Though retention on the text-based app was better than expected, it's not perfect, and Zuckerberg sees room for improvement.
The firm is planning to add more features like adding a desktop version and bringing search facilities for increasing user retention. Besides, they are exploring ways to attract users to come back to the app including making Threads Instagram.
After forecasting a positive revenue growth, Meta’s shares rose 8 percent signifying a comeback after facing skepticism over metaverse spending last year.
Zuckerberg stressed the importance of their work on augmented and virtual reality technology for the metaverse, which he said would stay competitive with companies like Apple, Google, and Microsoft.
He also noted the release of Llama 2, an AI model available freely for developers with fewer than 700 million users which has received a lot of interest.
Regarding a possible "cage match" with Elon Musk, Zuckerberg was uncertain if it would happen.
