Message, anyone?

If you are the kind that is looking for messages in films then you are better off not seeing Sundar C's flicks.
Asked why he is consistently churning out masala films sans any logic, director Sundar C asks, why should one churn out a film with message? "The film industry is a tool for entertainment and after all audience needs entertainment. I want to satisfy people who expect commercial ingredients and come for my films".
Perhaps the failure of his seriously and sensitively crafted Anbae Sivam is making to speak like that.
But then, even his masala movies like Giri and Winner have bitten the dust.
Should Sundar then stop making masala movies?
As one trenchant critic put it, "in his present form, it is better he doesn't make any movies at all".
