The Kollywood is all set to accord a grand welcome for Thalapathy Vijay's 'Mersal' , scheduled to hit the screens on October 18th for the Diwali festival. The film's area wise release rights are selling like hot cakes as expected.
We all know that apart from the home ground-Tamil Nadu, Vijay is a Box office king in Kerala the neighborhood state and his popularity is also increasing in the other South Indian states. To validate this fact comes the news of the Karnataka theatrical rights of 'Mersal' being sold for a whopping price.
Sources reveal that the rights to release 'Mersal' in theaters across Karnataka has been bought by Horizon Studio which recently released 'Vikram Vedha' and 'Karuppan'. 'Mersal' has been bagged by this firm for a record price of Rs.5.5 crores on Minimum Guarantee basis.
'Mersal' has been directed by Atlee and produced by Thenandal Studios banner as their prestigious 100th film. Isaipuyal A.R.Rahman has provided the music score.
