Director S.S.Rajamouli's epic bilingual 'Baahubali 2' released in April this year, rewrote history in the worldwide box office for Indian films by becoming the first Indian film to collect over Rs.1000 crores. The film also created history in Chennai Box office and many thought that breaking the record of that film is not so easy.
But Thalapathy Vijay's latest blockbuster 'Mersal' has done that at least in one movie hall in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Yes the collections made by 'Mersal' at Rohini Silverscreens, a six screen multiplex in Chennai has already surpassed the collections made by 'Baahubali 2' in the multiplex as reported by a source close to the theater management.
It must be noted that Vijayendra Prasad the father of director Rajamouli who wrote the story for 'Baahubali' and 'Baahubali 2' had worked on the screenplay for 'Mersal' directed by Atlee.
