Young director Karthik Subbaraj's films have never failed to strike a chord with Tamil audiences. After successful outings in films like 'Pizza', 'Iraivi', 'Jigarthanda', the director has come out with 'Mercury' which is a no language thriller.
While it's been years since a silent language film released for Tamil audiences, the anticipation over the project is ever so high. It should be noted that the film has already released in other states to positive reception from fans. The release in TN was stayed in solidarity with the ongoing Tamil film producers council strike.
Now that the strike has ended, 'Mercury' is all set to scare audiences starting this Friday. Prabhu Deva is essaying the lead role in this movie along with an ensemble of actors in major roles such as Indhuja, Sananth Reddy, Remya Nambeesan, Deepak Paramesh and Anish Padmanabhan as well.
Music composer Santhosh Narayanan is scoring the music for the film while the cinematography and editing has been handled by Tirru and Vivek Harshan respectively.
The film is fictionalised surrounding the true events based on mercury poisoning. Stone Bench Films has produced the film and the thriller is set to hit the screens coming Friday, 20th April.
