'Mercury' is an experimental film that is fast gaining a pan-India recognition. This no-language film, which will thus release in 'all languages' on April 13, tells a spine-chilling story.
Ever since its trailer was released on Monday, the film has been much in the news. Director Karthik Subbaraj, whose Tamil films like 'Pizza' and 'Jigarthanda' are critically-acclaimed, may have just delivered the best film in Prabhu Deva's career (going by the actor's own description).
"Prabhu Deva is not just a great dancer but also a great actor who can essay any kind of role. He has put up a unique performance in the movie. We had no actor in the mind when the script was being written. But we eventually wanted to cast someone who had never done such a role. And that's when we met with him. He loved the script and his role and decided to do 'Mercury'. His is a negative role in the movie. The story takes place within a span of two days," the director recently said.
Santhosh Narayanan's background score and cinematographer Thiru's colour palette are something to look out for. Anbariv has done the stunts. Sananth Reddy, Deepak Paramesh, Indhuja, Shashank Purushotam, Anish Padman and Remya Nambesan (in a guest role) are part of the cast.
