Namrata Shirodkar has remembered the golden days when 'Pokiri' had made Mahesh Babu a superstar to reckon with. It was 2006 and Namrata was pregnant with Gautam.

As the Puri Jagannadh masterpiece turns 14, Namrata fondly says, So many memories attached to this phenomenon. Our second release after marriage, I was carrying the baby weight of little Gautam. And then this film happened. It was a rage, it changed our lives forever!!"

The go-getter wife of Mahesh adds, "This movie got etched in Telugu cinema as a pathbreaking classic of all times!! The combination of MB as Pandu and director Puri Jagan was magical. It’s a memory that will always stay with me."

The film starred Ileana, but Puri was keener on casting either Ayesha Takia, Deepika Padukone or Parvathi Milton before zeroing in on Ileana. The film's songs were massy hits, thanks to Mani Sharma's Midas Touch.
