Prince Harry will reunite with his wife Meghan today as she touches down in Dusseldorf for the Invictus Games after spending the opening days of the event solo. The Duchess of Sussex is due to arrive later today for what will be a busy schedule for both on the third day of games.
The 38-year-old will stay in the presidential suite at the five-star Hyatt Hotel while her husband has been drawing crowds at the games, taking numerous selfies and drawing ‘dignitaries’ from the 21 competing countries.
Aides have kept Meghan’s visit under wraps, but she is expected to meet schoolchildren who have been invited along to attend. She may also meet the Nigerian team, as Prince Harry hinted during the opening ceremony that she would be cheering them on once she learned she had Nigerian heritage.
Meghan and Harry made their first public appearance together at the 2017 Invictus Games, when Meghan attended her first official engagement with Harry during the event’s opening ceremony in Toronto, Canada.
The Duchess also supported Prince Harry by watching his filmed contribution to the Netflix series "Heart of Invictus," which chronicled preparations for the 2022 Games. While she made only fleeting appearances on camera, Meghan gave a speech, commented, and offered support throughout the filming of the series.
For many people involved in or supporting this year’s games, Meghan is arguably just as big a draw as her husband.
