Mega Star Chiranjeevi highlights Indias untapped Tourism sector

The newly inaugurated sound and light show at Golconda Fort marked a significant moment on Wednesday evening, with Union Minister of Tourism and Culture, G. Kishan Reddy, doing the honors. Sponsored by the Indian Oil Foundation, this multimedia extravaganza stands in stark contrast to its predecessor, offering a dynamic and immersive experience for visitors.

During the inauguration, Mega Star Chiranjeevi shared his heartfelt memories and association with Golconda Fort. The iconic location had witnessed the filming of songs, action sequences, and advertisements, including his son Ram Charan's memorable song from Magadheera. Expressing the untapped tourism and employment potential of the fort, Mr. Chiranjeevi emphasized the need to focus on this sector for its cultural and historical significance.

Chiranjeevi's speech resonated with nostalgia as he recalled his experiences dancing with heroines and shooting fight scenes at Golconda. He expressed gratitude to Kishan Reddy for the invitation and highlighted his past efforts in explaining the historical significance of Golconda to UNWTO members during his tenure as Union Minister.

Touching upon the diverse landscapes of India, Chiranjeevi stressed the untapped potential of tourism in the country. He mentioned the vast cultural richness, from the Thar Desert to the Himalayas, forests, and coastlines, underscoring the need to showcase these unique offerings on the global stage.

Acknowledging the commendable efforts of Union Minister Kishan Reddy in promoting film tourism, Chiranjeevi highlighted the importance of events like the Golconda program in passing on historical knowledge to future generations. He quoted Prime Minister Modi's emphasis on balancing development and cultural heritage, emphasizing the significance of preserving the country's history.

Union Minister Kishan Reddy provided historical context, detailing Golconda's evolution during the Kakatiya, Bahmani Sultan, Qutb Shahi, and Asaf Jahi periods. He highlighted the UNESCO recognition received by Telugu states, exemplified by the Ramappa temple. Kishan Reddy outlined plans for the development of Qutub Shahi Tombs, allocating funds for projects like the National Science Center in Hyderabad, showcasing the government's commitment to preserving and promoting cultural heritage.
