It's known that Allu Sirish is playing a key role in Mohanlal-starrer '1971: Beyond Borders' (Malayalam). The film's shoot has been wrapped up and the same will hit the screens on April 7th. Directed by Major Ravi, it has Asha Sarath and Arunoday Singh of Bollywood in other crucial roles.

A period drama, Sirish will be seen in a retro look throughout the film. Touted as a prequel to 'Keerthichakra' (a famous series), the film is based on the 1971 Indo-Pak war. In this ambitious project, Mohanlal is playing two roles - as Major Mahadevan and his father.

Sirish's Mollywood debut, one hopes, will become a big hit.

It has to be seen if the film will be released simultaneously on the same day in Telugu. After all, 'Katamarayudu' will still be going strong in theatres and Venkatesh's 'Guru' will also be around the corner.
