Celebrities are often urged to set an example due to their significant influence on millions of fans. The Mega family, including Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, and Ram Charan, has recently demonstrated their commitment to this responsibility through a substantial charitable effort. In just one month, the trio collectively contributed ₹9 crore towards flood relief efforts in Kerala, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh.
Pawan Kalyan, Andhra Pradesh's Deputy Chief Minister, Panchayat Raj Minister, and Janasena Party President, has been particularly proactive. Witnessing the severe devastation caused by heavy rains and floods across the Telugu states, Kalyan made a generous donation of ₹1 crore each to the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister's Relief Funds. Additionally, as Panchayat Raj Minister, he allocated ₹1 lakh to each of the 400 Panchayats in Andhra Pradesh, totaling ₹4 crore. His total contribution amounts to ₹6 crore, reflecting his dedication to supporting affected communities and overseeing relief efforts on the ground.
Chiranjeevi, renowned for his philanthropic efforts, contributed ₹1 crore to the flood relief funds—₹50 lakhs each to the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana state governments. Global star Ram Charan matched this donation, providing ₹50 lakhs each to the relief funds of the two states. Both actors' contributions have been instrumental in providing much-needed aid to those affected by the recent natural disaster.
The Mega family's generosity extends beyond these recent donations. Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan have also contributed ₹1 crore to support victims of the landslides in Wayanad district, Kerala. This recent contribution adds to their long-standing tradition of philanthropic work. Chiranjeevi's past efforts include aiding victims of the Kargil War, Gujarat earthquake, tsunami, Uttarakhand floods, Konaseema floods, and the Vizag cyclone.
Another notable initiative by the Mega family is the Corona Crisis Charity, established by Chiranjeevi to support daily wage employees in the Telugu film industry during the COVID-19 lockdown. This charity played a crucial role in addressing the food and essential needs of workers during the crisis.
The Mega family's recent donations underscore their ongoing commitment to providing support during times of crisis, setting a powerful example of generosity and responsibility.
