Ranbir Kapoor seems to have found a new friend at work. The talented actor was training to be a street fighter for 'Bombay Velvet' with Ashwinder Singh and instantly hit it off with him.
As a matter of fact, Ranbir had to learn different forms like Mix Martial arts and Thai Kick Boxing to get the nuances of street fighting correct. He also had to undergo a different kind of work out where he had to concentrate on toning his muscles rather than beefing up.
Ranbir trained with Ashwinder for nearly 6 months prior to build muscle and get the craft right. Both of them enjoyed the training sessions and even after rehearsals the two continued to hang out together. The duo used to practice for a couple of hours every day in Mumbai (at the venue where the fighters of Super fight League used to practice) and then continued to keep at it through out the shooting of the film.
Ashwinder is originally from Kenya and personally is quite knowledgeable about different fight forms. He is a master in street fighting and has been trained in Muay Thai. Ranbir used to talk to him about the correct diet and about work outs.
Very few know that, Ranbir is usually someone who keeps to himself. The ace actor is usually by himself on sets or in his vanity. However, the Kapoor lad this time around used to talk to Ashwinder on sets and the two used to discuss his scene and everything else. Even though the shooting is long over now - Ranbir and Ashwinder keep in touch. Interestingly, Ashwinder is also playing a small role in the film as a Japanese street fighter.
A spokesperson shared, "Ashwinder and Ranbir met during preparation for the film but yet continue to be in touch. They discuss films, work, health, fitness and share a good rapport."
