As per Sajid Khan, director of the film, it was a tough choice to select a baby for the film since she plays a central protagonist. As this character is just a few months old in the film, a lot was independent on the way she looked and expressed herself in front of the camera.

This is why there was an extensive drive to select the best suited girl for the role. In a process that saw as many as 60-70 girls being considered, Johaina was the chosen one.
