The case of Meera Jasmine in Telugu films is indeed surprising and intriguing.

She is no doubt a talented actress. Though she does not have the glamour that Telugu cinema looks for, Meera has consistently won for herself interesting projects.

This despite the fact that she has no major hits here.

Her Ammayi Bagundi was only a nominal success. Gudumba Shankar with Pawan Kalyan was a major disaster.

Only Bhadra with Ravi Teja has got some success. But no one can attribute the film’s success to her.

Yet, Meera continues to be popular her.

Though she has been dropped from the film that K N T Sastry is making (Nanditha Das is now playing that role), Meera has got herself another interesting project.

She is pitted alongside the rustic-charmed Gopichand.

Udayshankar directs it while GVG Raju produces it.

Indeed, Meera knows how to stay afloat.
