They have been providing gist to the rumor mills.

But this week things seem to have come to a head.

Well-known actress Meera Jasmine (this year’s National award winner actually) and her mentor director Lohitha Das were said to have gone AWOL. Media reports had it that the two had tied the knot and settled down together.

Meera’s sister, who is making all the allegations, says "we had made elaborate arrangements for her wedding with actor Prithviraj. But she has left all of us to settle with the director".

It is a plot that would put to shame any film’s.

But Lohitha Das, who introduced Meera to films, is not surprised or depressed even a whit.

It is a situation that is not a new one for Lohotha Das. He has been at the butt of such canards for long.

He vehemently denies reports that he was having an affair with actress Meera. He says, "she is more like a daughter to me. We share only such a bondage".

Regarding a complaint filed by Meera with Ernakulam police against her sister that her property had been usurped by the latter, Lohitha Das says he has nothing to do with it.

'It is a problem between the sisters and I don't have to say anything on it", he says.

Meera has reportedly lodged a complaint with Ernakulam police that her sister had amassed all her wealth earned from acting.

Rumors were also abuzz that Meera had attempted suicide too. However, it was confirmed that the actress was indeed busy with her shooting for a Kannada movie in Bangalore.
