Yesteryear star actress Meena, who acted alongside the likes of Chiranjeevi, Rajinikanth and Venkatesh in the 1990s, is bereaved. Her husband Vidyasagar breathed his last on Monday night.
Meena got married to the Bengaluru-based businessman in the year 2009. They are blessed with a daughter Nainika (seen as Thalapathy Vijay's daughter in the 2016 Tamil movie 'Theri', dubbed as 'Police' in Telugu).
A severe form of lung infection is said to be the cause of Vidyasagar's demise. He had been treated for the infection at a private hospital for several months.
As per some reports emerging from Tamil Nadu, the deceased person had contracted a lung allergy when he inhaled air infected by pigeon droppings. This happens only for one in a million persons, a study says. The infection got exacerbated after he, along with his entire family, tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this year. Doctors advised lung transplant. But since a suitable donor couldn't be found, a transplant couldn't be performed.
"It is shocking to hear the news of the untimely demise of Meena's husband Vidyasagar, our family's heartfelt condolences to Meena and the near and dear of her family, may his soul rest in peace," wrote senior Kollywood actor Sarathkumar in his condolence tweet.
Vidyasagar's mortal remains will be cremated in Besant Nagar in Chennai later today.
IndiaGlitz extends its deepest sympathies to Meena. May she and her family members have the strength to overcome the personal loss!
