Prestigious Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research celebrates 17th annual convocation

The Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research (MAHER) proudly marked a significant milestone today as it hosted its 17th Annual Convocation ceremony. The event took place at the illustrious auditorium of the Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute, Enathur, Kanchipuram.
The Convocation began with a solemn moment of reflection, as attendees observed a minute's Silent Prayer in remembrance of the late Chairman, Thiru A.N. Radhakrishnan, whose visionary leadership laid the foundation for MAHER's success.
Mrs. Gomathi Radhakrishnan, the Honourable Interim Chancellor of MAHER, presided over the ceremony and awarded degrees to the graduating students. The event was graced by the presence of Padma Shri. Prof. Dr. Mohan Kameswaran, the Managing Director of Madras ENT Research Foundation, Chennai, served as the Chief Guest.
In her welcoming address, Mrs Jayanthi Radhakrishnan, Pro-Chancellor of MAHER, reflected on the institution's remarkable journey since its establishment in 2004. She highlighted MAHER's commitment to providing affordable, contemporary, and high-quality education while aligning with the principles of the National Education Policy 2020 and the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.
Prof Dr. R.S. Neelakandan, Vice-Chancellor of MAHER, presented the Annual Report, sharing key achievements in areas such as institutional accreditations, curriculum development, research, innovation, infrastructure, faculty development, and student welfare initiatives.
The Convocation also featured an address by Padma Shri. Prof. Dr Mohan Kameswaran, the Managing Director â of Madras ENT Research Foundation, Chennai, commended MAHER's Constituent Colleges for their outstanding track record, activities, and accreditation awards. He extended his heartfelt congratulations to the new graduates, wishing them a service-oriented and fulfilling professional journey.
In recognition of outstanding academic achievements, a total of 1158 candidates, including undergraduate, postgraduate, and 45 PhD candidates, were awarded degrees during the ceremony. Additionally, 100 meritorious candidates were awarded medals and certificates, while seven esteemed alumni of MAHER received Distinguished Alumni awards. Additionally, Dr. Usha Sriram, an Endocrinologist and General Physician was honored with an Honoris Causa for her exceptional contributions to women's reproductive health and women empowerment. Dr. Nimal Raghavan received the Institutional Social Responsibility Award for his dedicated service to the Environment.
The ceremony concluded with the Chancellor declaring the convocation dissolved and the National Anthem.
