It is known that actress Meena recently lost her husband to a terminal illness. Vidyasagar, a businessman she had married in 2009, passed away after a prolonged lung disease on June 29 this year.

On Saturday, Meena shared an important message on Instagram more than 40 days after her husband's sad demise. Marking World Organ Donation Day, she drove home the importance of organ donation.

"I pledge to donate my organs. I request you all to look it up as well. There is no greater good than saving lives," she began saying. "Organ donation is one of the noblest ways to save lives. It is a boon, a second chance for many who are battling a chronic illness that I personally went through. Wish my Sagar was blessed with more donors which could have changed my life! One donor can save 8 lives. Hope everyone understands the importance of organ donation. It’s not just between the donors and recipients and doctors. It greatly affects families, friends, colleagues, and acquaintances," Meena wrote.
